The thirtieth anniversary of Friendship Force is being celebrated at the Sheraton Colony Square Hotel in Atlanta March 1 to 3, 2007. The celebration begins with a gala dinner dance at the Georgia Aquarium on March 1. There is still time to make reservations. It is open to all!
Some of the attractions include a silent auction and a live auction of travel destinations, plane tickets, luggage, etc. Another is a live band, and a full dinner.
The Friendship Force of Big Canoe-North Georgia is home-hosting 18 guests from around the world from March 3 to 7. Sightseeing trips are planned. Some members will hos dinner parties, and some will lead hikes or take ambassadors shopping. The ambassadors are coming from Russia, South Africa, Canada, Kenya, England, and many parts of the United States.
There will be a farewell dinner on March 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Canoe Lodge in Big Canoe. All ambassadors, hosts, and club members are invited to attend. Club members are asked to bring a double-sized casserole of main dish, vegetable, or salad, and to call Ginny Miller in advance to say what they will bring. The Mountain Laurels dulcimer group will entertain, and will join the club for dinner.
Mark March 6 on your calendar.
